Khanh Windham
A discerning mind. A caring heart. A steady hand.
Strong public schools don’t happen by accident. They are the product of invested families, dedicated educators, supportive communities, and strategic leaders. We all want the best educational experience for our children. Most of us moved here because of Coppell ISD schools, and we all want our Coppell ISD community to continue to thrive. It takes all of us, working together, to ensure Coppell ISD remains strong today and into the future.
Coppell ISD is more than a school district. It is a community built on a legacy of excellence and trust. Serving as a trustee would be an opportunity to give back by doing what I do best: listen carefully, think critically, support our educators, and help ensure Coppell ISD continues to thrive today and for generations to come. When families choose Coppell ISD, they are placing their trust in our schools. That trust deserves thoughtful stewardship.
ABOUT ME
Education is a Difference Maker
My belief in education began long before I ever considered running for the Coppell ISD school board. It began with my immigrant parents who did everything possible to give me a better life. From a young age, the idea that education is the great equalizer was instilled in me.
What shaped me just as much as my parents’ deep sacrifice was my teachers who saw beyond grades and invested in character, confidence, creativity, and leadership. Those teachers were instrumental in shaping who I am. Today In Coppell ISD, I see that same impact on my own children.
My husband, Tim, and I have three wonderful children – Kathryn (11th grade - CHS), James, (9th grade - CHS9), and Harrison (4th grade – Canyon Ranch Elementary). You will catch us in the Buddy Echols stands for both football and marching band performances, the wrestling mats in the CHS Arena, and Wagon Wheel Park for year-round youth baseball games.
I graduated with a degree in industrial psychology and business administration from Baylor University. I then became a registered nurse, and I have an MBA from University of Texas - Tyler. Today, I lead large, system-wide technological innovations as a healthcare executive consultant, and I am a certified Professional Scrum Master. My work requires balancing people, policy, finance, and long-term strategy, ensuring smart decisions that improve outcomes while using resources responsibly.
During our time in this area, we have lived in the 75019 and the 75063 zip codes. Our family is fortunate to have lived experiences throughout this amazing Coppell ISD community.
WHY I AM RUNNING
A Coppell ISD Love Story
Like many families who now call Coppell home, we didn’t grow up here.
We chose it.
After navigating different educational experiences, including private school during my childhood and charter schools for our children in The Woodlands, Tim and I realized we were searching for more. We wanted a place where our children could belong, grow, and discover who they were becoming.
That journey brought us to Coppell ISD.
I still remember walking into Lee Elementary for the first time with two nervous boys after a year of pandemic learning. Teachers greeted students with warmth. Principals welcomed families like neighbors. You could feel joy resonating throughout the building. As we walked back to the car that morning, I turned to Tim and said, “We made the right choice.”
This was the day I fell in love with Coppell ISD.
Our daughter, once a shy little girl, now embodies fierce strength and beauty, shaped by her academic and leadership experiences. Our oldest son discovered resilience through athletics and coaches who believed in effort as much as talent. Our youngest has been nurtured by loving elementary teachers who see the joy and individuality of his charm and endless energy as an asset.
Along the way, we also discovered the heart of Coppell ISD - families who show up for students. From classroom volunteering, PTO involvement, booster and committee work, and loud fans in the stands, we have been inspired by the generosity that allows students to thrive. And that generosity is what makes our community stronger together.
